Every thread in Indian weaves has a story to tell, carrying with it regional tales and the flavour of the space
where it was created. It can be stitched, unstitched, coloured or plain, it reflects the vibrancy of Indian culture.
Combining the science of weaving with the art of dyeing, embroidery and patterns, these weaves have travelled
far and wide.

Shri. Umang Hutheesing

Fashion Designer & Royal Cultural Revivalist (India)

Shri. Umang Hutheesing is on the governing board of the Ahmedabad Education Society, and a managing trustee of the Hutheesing Visual Art Centre, and most importantly is the president and fifth generation of Hutheesings to manage the Hutheesing Design Company and Studio from the very same historic location, Jaising bhai-ni-wadi. He is also the founder president of the Hutheesing heritage foundation which has restored the Hutheesing Haveli and preserves the Hutheesing art collection. He has collaborated with the international foundation Musée Yves Saint Laurent in Paris and the National Museum of Bahrain, the Baroque Museum in Mexico, the Miho Museum in Japan and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Vaastu Sangrahalya in Mumbai, where he has exhibited over 300 pieces showcasing the cultural heritage designed by him from the Hutheesing collection.


Smt. Palak Shah

CEO Ekaya (India)

Smt. Palak Shah is the 28-year-old CEO of Ekaya Banaras. Ms. Shah is responsible for Ekaya’s operational and creative marketing strategy. She was a member of the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia Class of 2019. This is a significant recognition of her efforts as a change-maker in the protection, preservation and creative diversification of textile traditions and the luxury handloom industry.


Shri. Aditya Kitroo

MD, Jos & Fine (India)

Shri. Aaditya (Adi) was born in Kashmir. He worked as a consultant at the TATA group and at his family’s textile trading firm, prior to co-founding Jos & fine. A technical guru on Cashmere and its artisanal processing, Adi was chosen as a Champion of Change in 2017 by the Government of India. He hunts for the rarest Cashmere strains in the Himalayas during summer and the rest of his time at Jos&fine’s looms in Srinagar's old district.


Shri. Prasan Shah

Founder, Original Madras Trading Company (India & US)

Shri. Prasan Shah is the co-founder of the Original Madras Trading Company, a project launched in June 2019 at Pitti Uomo entirely handwoven in Madras, India. The project looks at reviving the craft of handweaving Madras in Madras while creating a refined fashion line. Currently stocked at 45 stores from New York to Paris to Tokyo."


Smt. Vidhi Singhania

Director, Vidhi (India)

Smt. Vidhi Singhania has brought the textiles and fabrics of Kotah into her beautifully crafted collection depicting traditional designs.
